Buggs Island Trip November 15 - 17 ![]() Border of Virginia and North Carolina. 18 boys went Our fun begins when we arrive at the dock at 10:00 pm. Already we have to administer first-aid for a bloody nose. The leaders were stressed hoping everyone will get to the island safe. We loaded up the motorboat provided by Mr. Allison and began the many trips to get over. Everything went smoothly till it started raining on the fifth trip over. After six trips we got everybody across. Luckily it was a light rain. It really began to downpour after everybody made it to the island. After everybody got settled in to the bunkhouse, we had Zebra Cakes for dessert and went to bed after. In the morning it had stopped raining and we were ready for fun. The water was pumped down from a water tower into the dining hall sink. We had eggs and bacon for breakfast then we explored the island. The lights were powered by oil because we didn't have electricity. After that we reviewed basic stuff like starting a fire, cutting a piece of wood and first-aid. For some odd reason Ethan had brought a snake into our camp and passed it around. We had meatball subs for lunch and played games throughout the afternoon. Then we had to clean up the beach for about two hours. After our dinner of spaghetti we hung out in the bunkhouse until we went to bed. In the morning we packed up and went home. Overall everybody had fun. Scout Web Master Walker Dennis |
